Roulette Bets
In this section, we run through and explain the different type of bets that you can make in roulette, and their pros and cons.
One of the great things about roulette, is that it is an easy games to understand and you can be up and playing in no time, even if you are a novice. There are bets for everyone, ranging from a simple bet on the black or red (pays even money) up to the more complex bets such as Les Voisins de Zero (Neighbors of Zero).
Speaking generally, you can split the diiferent bets up into the following categories, which correspond the the areas in which you place your chips on the roulette table (either in real life or in a virtual casino).

Outside Bets
These bets sit outside the main block of number on the roulette table. You have:
Even Money Bets (a bet on 18 numbers): You can either bet on red/black, Even/Odd, 1-18/19-36. These are the lowest block on the table above.
Group Bets (a bet on 12 numbers): You can either bet on the 1st12, 2nd 12 or 3rd 12 blocks of numbers
Column Bets (a bet on 12 numbers): You can bet on any of the column blocks, ie the bets to the far right of the table above).
Inside Bets
With an inside bet, you are placing your chips and betting on the inner black of numbers, either on an individual number, or on groups of numbers as follows:
Straight Bet: one number. Place your roulette chip on the middle of the square.
Split Bet: a two number bet, either vertically or horizontally (eg 11-12 or 11-14). Place your chip on the line between the 2 numbers.
Street Bet: a three numbers bet on a single line. Place your chip is placed on the line of a number at the end of the line. On the table above, you would place your bet above the 21 for a bet on 19,20,21, for example
Corner Bet/Square Bet: a 4 number bet in a square (eg 10-11-13-14). Palce your chip where the horizontal and vertical lines meet.
Sixline/Sixaine Bet: a bet on two Street Bets, with the chip placed at the corresponding intersection, as if in between where two street bets would be placed.
Call Bets
Call Bets are derived from French Roulette.
Voisins du Zero (Neighbors of Zero): A nine chip bet on the 17 numbers that lie between 25 and 22 on the roulette wheel, with 0 in the center.
Tiers du Cylindre (Third of the Wheel): A six chip bet on the 12 numbers on the opposite side of the wheel from 0.
Orphelins (Orphans): This is a bet on the 8 numbers in the 2 thin segments of the wheel that are not included in ither the Voisins or the Tiers. A five chip bet.
Finales en Plein: This is a bet on numbers ending in a certain digit. So Finales en Plein 3 is 3, 13, 23, and 33.
Finales a Cheval: This is a bet on all numbers ending in 2 specific digits. So, Finales a Cheval 1/2 is a bet on 1, 2, 11, 12, 21, 22, 31, and 32.
